Ahoy!!! There were over 40 lasers who sailed in the River Titles which were held at the Maroochy Sailing Club and those who attended were richly rewarded with the experience. The MSC has just become my nomination for club of the year! It is a small club with a band of dedicated and friendly volunteers who are very competent at running a sailing carnival. At the welcoming speech, the Commodore, John Henry, explained how the core activity of the club was to promote sailing and comradery in the community. I am glad to see them focusing on something achievable and doing it well..... The river was a joy to sail on, especially for us Brisbane River Rats who have to put up with City Cats, shipping and water which isn't quite as clean as the Maroochy River. The sailors were allowed to bunk down in the clubhouse though rumour has it that it was a way for the locals to nobble the tourists with bottles of red!!!! I certainly enjoyed myself and I won't need much of an excuse to visit again. Oh, I nearly forgot..... those interested in the results, check out the QLA website at www.qldlaser.vze.com See you at Lake Cootharaba at the Lake Titles.... Cheers Steve
